For all running and multi-sport events, Front Runner Sports have Personalised Coaching Packages available to a limited number of athletes.

We have assembled Perth’s leading experts to provide your coaching consultancy. All our coaches specialise in specific disciplines to ensure you receive the very best personalised service and outcomes.

The Front Runner coaching team includes:

  • Rafael Baugh (Director, B.Sc Physio, Accredited Athletics & Triathlon Coach) Former World #3 Duathlete (2009); 8*West Australian Athletics Champion; 18 professional Duathlon victories and former Physiotherapist for the Australian Athletics Team (2007); Perth Wildcats (2002-4) and AIS Hockey Programme. Raf has a truly unique and diverse set of skills that gives him  an in depth understanding of athletic performance and multiple angles to unlock ultimate performance in athletes, coaches and corporate groups. He specialises in corporate consulting and coaching multi-sport and distance runners.
  • Ben Green (B.Sc Hons; Level 3 ATFCA) Winner 2011 City to Surf 4km. PB’s 1500m 3.58; 3000m 8.48 and 5000m 15.12. Ben is a biomechanics and coaching expert who specialises in running plans for all distances and one on one technique enhancement sessions. He coaches many emerging national/international middle distance runners, as well as recreational athletes of all levels.
  • Ray Boyd (Level 3 ATFCA) Australian Representative World Athletics Championships and World Cross Country. WA Record Holder 5000m, 10,000m, Half Marathon and Marathon. Ray specialises in coaching for Marathon and long distance running events.

Re-evolution Running Assessments:

Conducted by a qualified Physiotherapist this intervention is a world exclusive. It is developed and implemented by Physiotherapists who are also elite athletes and understand how we can help any level of runner or jogger move more smoothly and efficiently. The system fully assesses your running technique and utilises our exclusive re-evolution exercises to improve your technique and efficiency.

Includes a USB port with footage of your technique, analysis of  any problem areas and provision of exercises to target the identified issues. Private Health Rebates apply for this service.

One on One Technique Sessions:

Conducted by our Biomechanics experts and running coaches, this intervention is a functional technique and training intervention that involves both assessment of your running form and implementation of techniques, drills and strategies to improve your form. Before and after video analysis with Coaches Eye software ensures you see, as well as feel the difference.

Bookings can be made for an individual one hour session ($110) or in a block of 4 *1hour sessions ($400). Sessions are conducted at various locations, including the WA Athletics Centre (Stephenson Ave, Mt Claremont), Hyde Park (Glendower Street, Highgate), The Running Centre (1273 Hay Street, West Perth).

Small group sessions or Corporate sessions can be priced upon request.

TriScreen Triathlon and Mutli-sport Assessments

Conducted by a qualified Physiotherapist, TriScreen has been exclusively developed and implemented by our experts to help triathletes reduce injury risk, improve function and enhance performance. The TriScreen involves an initial 1 hour musculoskeletal assessment to identify areas of restricted motion, limited flexibility, reduced muscular endurance or other functional deficit that specifically relate to triathlon performance. It includes a video assessment of your running form as the majority of triathlon injuries occur in this discipline. The initial assessment is followed by a 30 minute exercise prescription session, specifically targeting your areas of weakness, restriction or dysfunction to help enhance and improve your form, while reducing risk profile for injury.

The initial 1hr TriScreen assessment costs $165. The 30 minute prescription session costs $88. Private Health Rebates apply for this service.

Lactate Threshold Testing for Run and Bike:

Our sports scientist, Paul Goods carries out Lactate Threshold testing instore for both running and cycling. Come equipped to either run or cycle (with own bike) with suitable clothing, heart rate monitor and power metre (non essential). The testing session lasts 30 minutes and will help ascertain the point at which your body starts to accumulate increasing concentration of lactic acid. This allows Paul to give you target heart rate zones for your training or he can give you the threshold data for your coach to interpret. Regular re-testing can help guage the effectivenss of your training programme, ensuring you are making ongoing improvements by targeting the correct training intensities.
